Medicare rebates

You can ask your GP if you or your child is eligible for a Chronic Disease Management Plan (formerly known as an EPC). This allows you to claim a rebate of $56.00 for 5x sessions per calendar year. If you or your child has an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander background you may be eligible for an additional 5x sessions at the same rebate.

At Gotcha Talking we are able to help you obtain this rebate but there will still be a gap that is not covered by Medicare. Please note you can not use Medicare sessions with a therapy assistant.

Private health fund rebates

If you or your child has private health fund ‘extras’ cover you may eligible for a rebate from your private health fund. This amount varies depending on your coverage and caps. For sessions provided in the office, we have health fund claiming facilities that will allow you to claim the rebate on the spot and just pay the gap. For sessions provided out of the office, you are welcome to come in and pay to claim the rebate. Otherwise you can submit your receipt to your health fund to claim the rebate directly from them.
